Winter (December to February): Perfect for winter sports, including skiing and snowboarding in Gulmarg and Pahalgam.

Weather Preparation

Layer Your Clothing: Kashmir’s weather can be unpredictable. It's best to pack layered clothing for varying temperatures. Even during summer, the evenings can be cool.

Warm Clothes: If you're traveling in winter or visiting high-altitude areas like Gulmarg, pack thermal wear and a waterproof jacket.

Sun Protection: The sun can be strong, especially in the spring and summer, so don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

Currency and Payments

Local Currency: The official currency is Indian Rupees (INR). Always carry enough cash, as smaller towns and remote areas may not accept cards.

ATMs: ATMs are available in major cities like Srinagar, but they may be limited in rural areas, so plan accordingly.

Bargaining: In local markets, bargaining is common, especially for handicrafts and souvenirs.

Connectivity and Internet

Mobile Network: For the guests living outside Jammu and Kashmir your Post-paid sim will work smoothly with networks like Airtel, Jio, and BSNL offer decent connectivity in both Kashmir and Katra. However, the signal may be weak in remote areas like Vaishno Devi and during the pilgrimage trek.
